I figure there has to be at least one of you out there running an E36 with Koni Sports. Im currently trying to install a set of Koni Sport inserts on my 318ti but as far as I know the only way to do that is to hack up the stock housing like in this video. Can anyone confirm or deny this for me? You would literally be my hero forever. Thanks!

Not an E36 guy, but I can confirm that Koni Inserts require you to hack up the stock housing. Koni Sports are a very common mod for CS Toyobarus, so I've heard a lot of talk about installing them. Thankfully they've got Koni Sports Completes for the FR-S now, so I won't have to hack up any stock housings.

I race a 325i with Konis. My series (NASA Spec3) uses the M3 housings. I think they already have the bottom hole that you drilled. You'd need to upgrade to the M3 swaybar links too, as they attach to the strut housing instead of the control arm. My series uses the M3 control arms, too so check for compatibility here too, if you keep the stock control arms.

do you already have the Koni sports? I went with Bilstein, and love them. I was excited at the e36 tag until I realized I couldn't help :-(

Yes, we already have the Konis, we wanted to have the ability to adjust

Im not sure that the sway bar links would work with the 318ti. The 318ti sport uses a completely different sway bar setup than the M3
